We continue to publish cases about how the INSIDER system for monitoring personnel performance and controlling workplaces has helped make our clients’ businesses more efficient.
The client's company develops mobile applications. The team includes more than 30 IT developers, web designers, strategists and copywriters.
To monitor the performance of its staff and calculate wages fairly, the company used a time tracker (not INSIDER), which ensured that employees were doing work and not personal matters.
One of the marketers began to show poor results in attracting new customers. However, the time tracker showed that his productivity was at the level of the team average.
A conversation was held with the employee, but it did not bring any results - the performance remained poor, and he claimed that he was working at the limit of his capabilities.
To verify his words and his assumptions, our client installed the INSIDER system on his computer, under the pretext that the time tracker’s license had expired.
All actions of the marketer were recorded in real time, screenshots were taken, and the client also analyzed correspondence collected using the built-in keylogger and screenshots. As a result of the audit, dishonest actions on the part of the employee were revealed - he took orders from the outside (“freelancing”) during paid working hours.
The time tracker recorded his activity as productive, because the main work was carried out in “productive” programs, and there was no way to see what exactly the employee was doing before installing INSIDER.
The data recorded by the INSIDER served as the basis for dismissing the employee, which made it possible to avoid further negative consequences for the company and save 600,000 rubles on the annual salary of an ineffective employee.
